Conference Speakers - 9th June

For School and Academic Leaders

The Teacher Retention and Professional Development Conference provided a timely and necessary platform for educational leaders and experts to come together and discuss solutions for optimising professional learning, for example through the effective use of technology, coaching, and teacher-centred approaches. School leaders had the opportunity to gain strategic guidance, and explored evidence-based best practice around CPD and CPD leadership that emerged from the pandemic, as well as understood the importance of SEL, wellbeing and PD in retaining a skilled, productive and happy teaching workforce.

Key takeaways of the event included:

  • Highlighting effective and trialed-and-tested ways to support teachers to become resilient and high-performing leaders
  • Discovering how to enhance teacher motivation, productivity and efficacy during times of crisis
  • Understanding how to retain a highly-skilled workforce within schools and the wider profession
  • Learning how to create a strong culture and ethos in schools through coaching, mentoring and other leadership approaches

This was a highly interactive conference made up of a mix of presentations, panel debates, “video-on” workshops and roundtable discussions, which enabled participants to listen and learn, but also contribute to the discussion through the live chat and in break-out rooms. The event also facilitated networking in 1-to-1 meetings, and this was all delivered via our event platform, Swapcard.

Series Testimonials

I thought the format was excellent. I found it very valuable, I really enjoyed myself. I really liked the flipped concept. It was great to have the freedom to choose, to tap in and out of sessions before joining the roundtables at the main event. My favourite sessions were [Kate Griggs] Made By Dyslexia, [Mike Lambert] Dubai College and the [Pirjo Suhonen's] double flipped learning case study from Finland
